INTRODUCTION
The Institute of Islamic Studies, established in 2013, is one of the leading academic units of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, dedicated to promoting advanced learning and research in the field of Islamic Studies. The Institute offers BS (four-year) and MS/M.Phil degree programs, designed to provide students with both a strong foundation in traditional Islamic sciences and an understanding of the challenges and dynamics of the modern world.
The BS program is conducted in the morning shift, offering a comprehensive curriculum that covers core areas such as Qur’anic Studies, Hadith, Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence), Islamic History, Seerah (Biography of the Holy Prophet PBUH), Comparative Religions, and Islamic Thought. The MS/M.Phil program emphasizes research, analytical skills, and scholarly engagement with classical and contemporary issues in Islam.
The Institute is committed to producing competent, ethical, and research-oriented scholars who can effectively interpret and present the teachings of Islam in the context of modern intellectual, social, and cultural challenges. PROGRAMS OFFERED
The Institute of Islamic Studies offers a range of academic programs designed to provide comprehensive education and research opportunities in various branches of Islamic knowledge. 1.BS (Four-Year Program) – A foundational undergraduate program focusing on the study of Qur’an, Hadith, Fiqh, Islamic Thought, History, and Comparative Religion, designed to equip students with a broad and balanced understanding of Islam.
2.BS AD (Associate Degree Program – Two Years) – A concise and focused program that provides essential knowledge of Islamic Studies, enabling students to pursue further education or professional engagement in related fields.
